About Tim’s Driving Tuition
Driving Instructor for Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford, and Romsey
I am a fully qualified Driving Instructor living in Chandlers Ford who has passed all parts of the Government controlled test for driving instructors in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The DVSA is a government body and the people who run the driving tests in this Country. I have been check tested twice and successfully passed my Exams. The Check tests are exams which all qualified driving Instructors need to undertake to ensure they are continually providing good professional tuition. They are carried out every three to four years.
I have also passed the new standards check test and have become a Grade A instructor which is the highest grade you can achieve. I understand only around 30 % of professional driving instructors are A grade.
I specialise in a fully structured driving course to get pupils to test standard. I also offer mock tests, Intensive courses, motorway lessons and refresher lessons.
I qualified as an approved driving instructor (ADI) in August 2007 after attending a fully structured government-controlled training course.
On the 10th of June 2015, I passed my Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) standards Check test achieving the highest possible grade …an A.
All driving instructors are required by law to be retested every 3 to 4 years to ensure they continue to provide a good standard of driving instruction. I also passed two previous check tests which I have undertaken since qualifying as an approved driving instructor in August 2007.
From October 2014 to December 2014 2,967 Driving Instructor Check tests were carried out in the UK.
ONLY 27% achieved an A grade, 67.9% achieved a B grade and 5.1% failed. Source DVSA 12/03/2015.
My pass rate from January 2017 to December 2017 was 60 %. The pass rate throughout the country is around 46 %.
In 1998 I was very proud to have achieved a run of 15 straight passes at the Maybush test centre in this year and 16 passes out of 19 tests altogether at this centre.
My Pass Rate is continually between 55 % and 65 % which is way above the national average. Since qualifying as a driving instructor in August 2007 offering driving lessons in Romsey, Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford and surrounding areas, every year I have exceeded the national average pass rate for driving tests in the U.K.
The pass rate for 2012 at Forest Hills Southampton was 43%.

I aim to get pupils through the driving test at a pace which suits them. I find that many pupils wish to pass as quickly as possible, hopefully with a first-time pass. I will not rush the pupil and I believe in providing a professional service offering a fully structured driving course and I will not cut corners. If the pupil’s wish is to complete the driving course over a longer period of time to suit them that’s fine by me.
